When Mac announced that they would be offering student discount with unidays I jumped at the chance of doing an order. It had been a while since I’ve splurged on make-up as there was a few things I was running low on so I stocked up before having to be a stingy student again.
Mac is one of the more higher end brands I like because they for me are still at affordable prices and great if you are just starting to get into make-up. I picked up a classic favourite of mine which I’m sure you have heard me babble on about in the past and that’s Mac studio fix fluid, I have the shade NC20 which is a tiny bit dark for me naturally but when I have some tan on it’s perfect. I don’t tend to get along with matte finishes but this is the only matte foundation I can wear. Sticking with the theme I wanted a new concealer so opted for Pro Longwear, I already have the studio finish which I love for blemishes but I wanted a high duty one that would last me a while to highlight my under eyes so I picked it up in NC15. I do however always find that when wearing my studio fix my under eyes do crease a little so let me know if you have any tips to over come that.
Onto eyes now, my best friend Kirti for my birthday bought me the mac quad as she knew I wanted one for a while that I could use everyday. She actually has filled most of this up for me as she chose the shades amber lights, brown down and expensive pink and I picked brown script. They are all shades I love that I can wear subtly on a everyday basis or wear on a night out as the pigment in the shimmer shades are insane. Continuing with the eye area, I have finally said goodbye to my Anastasia dip brown and are now trying and testing fluidline brow gelcreme in deep dark brunette. I was actually surprised by how similar it is to dip brow but I feel like it is slightly more cream. When applying you literally need the tiniest bit as a little goes a very long way.
Finally, in terms of make-up the last thing I picked up is a lisptick as well you cannot really do a Mac haul without getting a lipstick and I think I have found my everyday perfect nude. Yash is from the matte lipstick collection which it is a deep neutral shade with a slight tone of pink.
In terms of skin bits I replaced my Fix plus as this is a staple in anyones collection to prime and set your face and even give it a refresh during the day. I finally got my hands on strobe cream, I have been wanting it for so long and reading many blog posts on it, I have really got into using primers lately as I find they really do help my make-up not the cake in dry places. Instead of the original I bought goldlite as it has flecks of gold particles giving an iridescent glow under your base.
My final thing in the beauty haul is something I was actually gifted from Vanity Planet which is a brand I hadn’t heard of until my sister asked for their ultimate skin spa brush for her birthday. I was invited to become an ambassador for the brand sharing my views on their products and to feature them across my social media. As I don’t have many make-up brushes and hate washing them I thought why not get some new ones in my collection so I picked the professional make-up brush collection* which came in a lovely leather pouch so it’s perfect when I’m travelling back and forth from home to uni. So far I am really impressed with the brushes, they are super soft althought some of them do fray a little bit. There is the perfect amount for everyday use as you get 15 which include eye brushes, powder, bronzer, a fan brush, although I don’t think there is one suitable for for foundation for me personally.
So there are all the beauty bits I have added to my collection, hope you enjoyed!
