A spa day is always needed right?
This year for my friend Laurens birthday we didn’t want to do the classic night out so decided a spa day would be perfect as it meant we could all properly catch up and relax at the same time. We booked the day through Treatwell where we got a fab deal! We opted for the Village spa day for two priced at £69pp this included two 25 minute treatments (back massage and facial with a scalp treatment), lunch at the Village Pub and full access to the facilities.
The Village Hotel is located in Canley, Coventry so is only about a 20-minute drive for us, which is very handy. I had actually stayed at The Village in February with my boyfriend but never had a spa treatment so this time I got to experience the whole lot. We arrived at about 10:30 am and went straight down to the spa where the lovely receptionist told us all about what our day consisted of and booked our lunch.
Our treatments weren’t until 12:15 pm so we decided to work up a swat in the gym first. I really like the gym at the hotel as it is quite small and not overly busy so for someone who doesn’t enjoy working out in public it is great. They have a wide range of equipment and also offer a variety of classes. I would love to become a member of this gym in the future as it is super close to my work, I better get saving for that membership!
After the gym we headed back to the spa to wait for our treatments, we all filled out a short survey to say what we wanted to achieve from this visit and what our problem areas were. Of course, I wanted to achieve glowy skin!
The treatment I had was amazing! I can’t believe I had never been on a spa day before, I’m definitely hooked! My therapist made me feel completely at ease and relaxed, I’m surprised I didn’t fall asleep. The 50-minute treatment began with a back and shoulder massage. I chose the tense oil as sitting at a desk all week my back is pretty tense. The sandalwood, rose geranium, myrrh and frankincense help you to unwind and soothe all the knots in your back area. Before I nearly dozed off in the massage it was time for the facial. Before my therapist began she shone a light on my skin to find out what type of skin I had. Which as I suspected it is dry, dehydrated with a slight bit of congestion around the nose. I really am on the quest to find some skincare that will add some hydration and glow to my skin so feel like this day really helped, if you have any recommendations let meknow. The facial was brilliant, my skin had never felt so hydrated and it even looked glowy. An added bonus to the treatment was the scalp and head massage. I even got given a sample of the hair mask she used, I have been enjoying using as the smell takes me right back to the treatment if only I could give myself a good enough head massage.
All the products they use in the spa are from ESPA which are all fully natural brand. I loved the products that were used in my facial so much that I even purchased their Christmas set: Balancing Collection. A full review of the skincare set will be coming soon once I have tried and tested it a bit more, but so far I am still enjoying them thoroughly.
We then popped down for some lunch in the Village pub which was a lovely wrap, although we probably could have done with some extra snacks, we’re growing girls after all. To end the day we headed to the pool to relax in the jacuzzi and sauna and have some girly chats. I would highly recommend The Village Hotel spa day if you are local to the Coventry area as it is so affordable and they really make your day special.
